At Jimmy Huntington School, we are spearheading a movement to empower our students in documenting and sharing their cultural experiences through digital place-based storytelling. Throughout the year, students will actively engage in cultural activities such as trapping, hunting, fishing, and hot springs trips. Through training in developing interview questions and utilizing technology for interviews, they will author and publish videos, digital books, and articles. These stories will be hosted online, allowing others to witness the remarkable resilience, independence, and resourcefulness of Athabascan culture, along with the beauty of its lands and animals.
